Our return to Germany

I have quite a bit of catching up to do for the blog. There are even a few posts from the summer that I wanted to get on here, but for now I'll just try to get the last month or so posted.

Elly and I returned from Alaska on a Friday, so it was nice to have the weekend with Sam before the workweek started again. The very next day was our 6th anniversary. Unfortunately, we didn't do anything to celebrate it. It's been hard to want to leave Elly with a babysitter over here. If we had family around it would be no problem, but until now we haven't left her with anyone. We want to get to the point of having date nights. I think it's important for the health of our marriage to have some time to ourselves, but we have to feel comfortable with leaving Elly in someone else's care first.

Sunday afternoon we took the train downtown. This was the first time that Elly really seemed to enjoy the train ride. Of course she didn't want to be in her stroller. She wanted to be out walking around and exploring.

Elly and I waiting for the train

Acting shy inside the train

She didn't want to be held. It's tough being 16 months old :)

Here are just a few other pictures from that first weekend home~

Helping Mama sweep the floors. She LOVES helping me clean!

Going shopping!!! The neighbor kids gave her this shopping cart and I think it's probably her favorite thing. She plays with it daily.

A plum from our tree! They were really good this year (all three of them :)

Flowers that Sam had picked from the field. He always has flowers for me when I get back from a trip :)
